WHO DOES GEORGINA WORK WITH?
Georgina primarily works with adolescents aged 14 years and over and adults. She supports clients experiencing trauma-related stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, workplace stress, burnout and challenges associated with ADHD or autism. She also has a strong interest in psychology in sport.
DO I NEED A REFERRAL?
You do not need a referral to attend as a private client. To claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or another eligible medical practitioner.
HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
New clients are asked to email georgina@ghpsychology.com.au to arrange a free 15-minute intake call before booking. This provides an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are seeking support with, availability and whether Georgina’s service is likely to be the right fit.
Current clients can book and manage appointments through the online client portal.
CAN I ATTEND BY TELEHEALTH?
Yes. Telehealth appointments are available through a secure video platform. You can request telehealth when booking or email Georgina after scheduling your appointment.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST APPOINTMENT?
The first appointment focuses on understanding what has brought you to therapy, your current circumstances, relevant history and what you would like to work towards. You will not be expected to discuss anything before you feel ready.
HOW LONG ARE APPOINTMENTS?
Individual psychology appointments are generally 50 minutes. Relaxation and Regulation Skills Groups run for approximately 90 minutes.
WHAT ARE THE RELAXATION AND REGULATION SKILLS GROUPS?
These are small, practical group sessions focused on learning and practising specific relaxation, distress-tolerance and emotion-regulation skills. There is no pressure to share personal experiences. Each session focuses on a particular skill, and clients can attend individual sessions according to their needs and interests.
CAN I CLAIM A MEDICARE REBATE FOR GROUP SESSIONS?
A Medicare rebate may be available if you hold an appropriate referral that specifically includes eligible group psychological therapy. Please check your eligibility with your GP and provide your referral before attending.
WHAT ARE THE FEES?
Fees vary depending on the service, appointment type and funding arrangement. Current fee information is available through the booking portal or by emailing Georgina. Where eligible, Medicare rebates may reduce the out-of-pocket cost.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and missed appointments may incur a cancellation fee because the appointment time has been reserved specifically for you.
IS THERE A RECEPTION DESK?
RYSE is a reception-less practice. Please take a seat in the client lounge when you arrive, and Georgina will meet you at your appointment time. Administrative enquiries are best sent by email.
CAN I CONTACT GEORGINA THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA?
No. Social media accounts and comments are largely unmonitored and should not be used to request psychological support or share personal or clinical information. Please email georgina@ghpsychology.com.au for enquiries.
WHAT IF I NEED URGENT SUPPORT?
G H Psychology Services is not a crisis service and cannot provide immediate or after-hours support. If there is an immediate risk of harm, call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department. You can also contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.
RELAXATION & REGULATION SKILLS GROUPS
Practical skills. Small groups. No pressure to share.
These gentle 90-minute classes provide dedicated time to understand and practise specific relaxation, distress-tolerance and emotional regulation skills.
Each class stands alone. Attend the sessions that feel most useful to you or complete the full six-class rotation.
Groups are kept small, with approximately 4 to 10 participants. There is no expectation that you share personal experiences or explain why you are attending. You can simply come along to learn and practise at your own pace.
UPCOMING CLASSES
All classes run on Wednesday evenings from 5:15 pm to 6:45 pm. Each session is completely standalone, so you can attend one, several or all six, in any order. Each class is offered twice, giving you the flexibility to choose the dates that suit you, catch up on a missed session or spread your chosen classes across the three-month period.

WHAT WILL WE COVER?
MINDFULNESS A: WHAT SKILLS
Learn how to observe, describe and participate in the present moment. This class introduces practical ways to notice thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and your surroundings without immediately needing to change them.
MINDFULNESS B: HOW SKILLS
Explore how to practise mindfulness with curiosity, a non-judgemental approach and a focus on doing one thing at a time. Attend this as a standalone class or use it to build on Mindfulness A.
PACED BREATHING
Learn how breathing patterns can influence the body’s stress response. This class includes a brief introduction to the nervous system, guided breathing practice and support to find a pace that feels comfortable and sustainable for you.
PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION
Learn how deliberately tensing and releasing different muscle groups may help reduce physical tension and increase awareness of how stress is held in the body. The class includes a complete guided relaxation practice.
SLEEP HYGIENE & RESTFUL SLEEP
Explore practical factors that can support restful sleep, including routines, environment, sleep pressure, body cues and strategies for managing a busy mind. The focus is on realistic adjustments rather than achieving “perfect” sleep.
PULLING IT ALL TOGETHER
Bring the different skills together and learn how to choose a strategy based on what you notice in your mind and body. You will be supported to develop a personalised and realistic relaxation practice for everyday life.
WHO ARE THE CLASSES FOR?
These classes may be helpful if you:
• Want more time to learn and practise regulation skills
• Have completed some individual therapy and want to strengthen your practical skills
• Find relaxation techniques difficult to practise without guidance
• Want a gentle introduction to the therapy space
• Prefer structured learning without pressure to share personal experiences
• Would like to supplement your current individual therapy
You do not need to transfer your individual therapy to Georgina to attend.
FEES & MEDICARE
Each 90-minute class is $60.
A Medicare rebate of $35.30 may be available under MBS item 80122 if you hold a valid referral for group mental health treatment services.
Eligible clients may access up to 10 group mental health treatment services per calendar year. These are separate from eligible individual psychology sessions.
Please speak with your GP about your eligibility. Your referral must include group services and be received and confirmed before the class for a Medicare rebate to be processed.
You can still attend as a private participant if you do not have an eligible referral.
